Very funny and to the point:

Update 1: I forgot to include in the link to their site.

Update 2: Left Foot Forward provides plenty of background to this proposal and how it is backed by more than 350 of the world’s leading economists. Well, I never knew that, but it is a good idea on its own, read more.

  1. Not so sure a Tobin Tax is the answer, if for any other reason, it would not be effective unless it on an international level.

  2. Please watch the video again and see.

It would raise £100 billion, cost very little and be simple to implement, I agree let’s do it internationally.

  3. Has anyone ever considered placing a tax on Internet Porn? I imagine we could end global poverty within two weeks.

  5. This sounds odd. Why on earth would YOU want to have over more of your hard earned to be wasted by some nameless official on some daft project that no-one would pay for from their own money? You must be feeling flush!

Believe me, it is you and I who pay all the taxes levied. Rich people don’t pay tax, and can’t be made to do so because all the people in charge of all the governments in the world tend to be rich people.

So calls for new taxes — a truly dumb thing to do — merely mean calls to strip starving pensioners of yet more of their little substance.

  7. Sorry, but if you believe taxes are paid by other people than the ordinary man, you’re away with the fairies. They aren’t.
