Arizona, Neo-Nazis And Crime.

with 12 comments

The current bout of xenophobia in Arizona has made them some new friends, but not the type you’d like to shout about, neo-Nazis are flocking to Arizona, as this video report shows:

But it is not only that, crime follows in their way.

As skinhead criminals whose hobby is being neo-Nazis on the side become active within Arizona.

The law of unintended consequences?

  1. Remember the film, ‘Escape from New York’ with Kurt Russell. Perhaps, we can get all the haters, racists, neo-nazis to come to one state and then build a giant wall around it.

    But who plays Kurt Russell?

  3. Do you think Arizona will develop a Nazi movement as thriving as Great Britain’s?

  4. As far as I have been told, most things in North America are bigger and better, and apparently this applies to the National Socialist movements there too!

Whilst I am probably a bigger critic of the Brits than anyone else here, there still is a stigma in Britain concerning open admiration of Adolf Hitler, marching around with swastikas and parading openly about National Socialism, the British have their faults but that is not one of them, thankfully.

  5. After 44 years as an American, and 30+ years in Texas, I had absolutely no idea, until today, that Nazi beliefs and imagery went unstigmatized in my country.

    Thanks, mod.

  6. I’ll take your word for it, but then again there is a political cultural issue here.

    You let them march, openly.

And I can see the arguments in an American context, but even British neofascists are at pains to hide their connections to neo-Nazis because they realise how such views are stigmatised in British historical culture, and the memory of World War II is still very much present.

I wouldn’t dream of talking about North America, except after my ear hole has been bent by North Americans, many times, extolling the virtues of their country(s).

    Still, different political cultures🙂

  7. Of course we let them openly. It’s a liberty thing, you know.

Our mamas tell us when we’re little boys and girls: “If it’s easy, it ain’t tolerance.”

BTW, is it legal to display a swastika in Manchester?

  8. Not sure, to be honest, but if you did put it up 1) all the windows of the building would probably be bricked 2) it would be torn down within a short period of time 3) those responsible for putting it up would be shun by ordinary society as political lepers, etc etc

  9. Well, since I’ve never seen a swastika earnestly displayed, I’m not sure what would happen here. It wouldn’t be very nice, I’d wager. These guys tend to send out a press release a few hours in advance, stay long enough for the teevee people to get their money shots, and then beat a hasty retreat to monitor their websites for the hoped-for uptick in hits.

  10. I gratified that you haven’t seen one, but the evidence from the **video** who surely enough?

  11. My question is why are not the Arizona politicians, such as Russell Pearce, Joe Arpaio, and John Kavanaugh, who apparently have association with these Neo-Nazis, discussed on the media?

  12. I don’t know why that might be the case. Do you have any links or information to show that association ?
